Application Process
You can apply between November and March through:
After submitting your application online, mail your documents to the School of International Education and Exchanges (SIEE) at NEFU.
Who Can Apply?
Nationality:
- Must be non-Chinese and in good health.
Education and Age:
- Bachelor’s degree: High school graduate, under 25 years old.
- Master’s degree: Bachelor’s degree, under 35 years old.
- Doctoral degree: Master’s degree, under 40 years old.
Language Skills:
- Chinese-Taught Programs: Pass HSK Level 4.
- English-Taught Programs:
- Bachelor’s: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 90.
- Master’s/PhD: IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 95.
- English Proficiency Certificate is also eligible
Academic Excellence:
- Must have good academic results and research skills.
Other Rules:
- Cannot combine this scholarship with any other scholarship.

Documents to Submit
Prepare and submit two copies of the following:
Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form:
- Complete it online at CSC Online Application.
- Select Program Type B and enter NEFU Agency Code: 10225.
NEFU Application Form:
- Apply online at NEFU Admissions System and print the form.
Highest Degree Certificate:
- Submit a notarized copy. If you’re still studying or working, provide a pre-graduation or employment certificate.
Academic Transcripts:
- Provide notarized copies in English or Chinese.
Language Certificates:
- HSK (valid for 2 years) or English proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL).
Study or Research Plan:
- Write at least 1,000 words in English or Chinese.
Recommendation Letters:
- Two letters from professors or associate professors.
Passport Copy:
Foreigner Physical Examination Form:
- Complete the official health form with all required items, signatures, hospital stamps, and a sealed photo. The results are valid for six months.
Certificate of Clearance (No Criminal Record):

Fee Waivers:
- No tuition, on-campus accommodation, or application fees.
Medical Insurance:
- CNY 800 per year for comprehensive health coverage.
Monthly Living Allowance:
- Bachelor’s: CNY 2,500/month
- Master’s: CNY 3,000/month
- Doctoral: CNY 3,500/month
